K/S Hospital Scene bc Into Darkness was so K/S TASTIC
It was so sudden. He woke up with a flash, bright lights, soft sounds, a bed, he was alive?? But he'd died in the chamber...in engineering. Spock and he had exchanged that vulcan hand-thing whatever the hell it was. He'd died, he was dead. Was this heaven? Holy....
No. Bones was here nagging at him.
"Oh don't be so melodramatic, you were barely dead. You've been out cold for two weeks."
He was so...taken aback. What had happened? He just remembered being in the locked chamber watching Spock shed tears, glimmering tears of anguish as he slowly died of radiation poisoning... his heart lurched at the memory. He didn't know the vulcan was even capable...
And then Spock was in the room, approaching him. Suddenly... everything else was forgotten. Hell even Bones was gone in his mind, though he could hear the doctor put in a "You know Uhura and I had something to do with it too."
"....Thanks, Spock... for saving my life..."

[And yet he felt a pang of betrayal at the thought of letting Spock down. Same as when he decided to take Khan in alive.]
It makes me feel alive. I like it
[A flippant response]
no subject
[Spock starts to circle Jim... looking thoughtful.]
....You desire it. [Not a question.]
Since you are my mate, it is my responsibililty to see that you receive what you want. If to engage in a physical altercation is what you desire, then I will supply it.
[Spock stops in front of Jim.... crouching in a fighting pose.]
Your move.
no subject
His one and only was going to fight him? Truly he was perfect. He grinned.]
You gonna hit me back?
no subject
[Spock stared at Jim... ready to fight at any moment. However, he couldn't help but feel upset at Jim's insistance of fighting...
He likened Jim to a wounded tiger ... pacing his cage and looking for a way out. Jim saw red....
... could Spock even help?
Well... he could wear him out.]
no subject
[He didn't want to be worn out. He wanted to kick ass and feel in control of something. Was that so bad? Nevermind. Don't answer that. He knows it's not.]
no subject
He thought about what Jim needed... the control that had been taken from him because of Frank... the satisfaction he strives for now. Can Spock truly give him that satisfaction?
The realtity was he could not. He was not only a pacifist... but he could not be expected to harm his mate.
What could he do for Jim instead? Spock regarded his mate, then growled as he stepped forward.
Jim wanted control? Spock would show him that having control was not necessarily a good thing...
....Spock lunged.]
no subject
no subject
His plan? Subdue Jim... and attempt to make him see reason.
But was this right? There was a voice in his head that sounded suspiciously like Winona, shaking her head in disapproval at his immaturity. Could Jim and Spock trust each other after this? How would it inevitably end?
The Vulcan growled as he tightened his arms.... however, he was careful not to hurt him.]
no subject
no subject
...but he fully appreciated it now.
Spock moved around to wrench Jim's arm behind his back, bearing him down to the ground in another attempt to pin him.]
no subject
no subject
There was also confusion... lots of confusion.]
Care to explain to me now why you desire such conflict? You are being illogical.
[Spock wasn't all that good at goading... but if push came to shove, he would make Jim angry enough to attack him.]
no subject
[And that really wouldn't end well. Spock would surely regret it later. Jim stepped around, not allowing himself to be circled, he paced in a circle right with Spock, looking squarely at him like a gunslinger.]
I'm being illogical? You're participating in it too, sweetheart.
no subject
[Spock's voice was loud and demanded authority... which it didn't often do. He rather stuck to being monotone.... superior yes... but he never wanted to be 'captain'.
In a quick move, Spock is suddenly standing right in front of Jim...]
You cannot win this fight Jim.
[There was a deeper meaning to that statement.]
no subject
Just for me, huh?
[His eyes flashed once more, Spock was quickly getting on his nerves, though he couldn't articulate why. Yes he could say Spock was being kind of a shit but he didn't understand his deeper reasons why. Right now he simply wanted to execute his anger in the most physical way possible.... but he couldn't do it with Spock. He wouldn't fight him, he wouldn't hit him for no reason. If Spock was insane due to being poisoned and trying to kill him? Yes.
Not when he's being... himself.]
Depends on what you define as victory.
[He planned on faking Spock out then diving from the barn, to leave the farm entirely for a few hours. A dick move but it had to be done... if Lightning hadn't been witnessing this and giving defensive and eve frightened snorts. He might buck and even kick to get out of his stall if he felt threatened enough. Why were the humans fighting? This could end poorly. Excited horse kicks out his stable door, the wood stabs Jim in the arm and torso... Or worse, in his fear Lightning hits Jim himself.
Or Jim simply gets away and gets up to no good on his own, only to return hours from now not only plastered but bloody and beaten.]
yes! Perfec~ <3
No... Spock dropped his defensive stance and opened his mouth to speak...
...but before he could do that he was interrupted by the sound of breaking wood and an enraged horse.]
How's the trip lately?
Jim seemed to snap out of his need for aggression and eyed the horse, now breaking free of his stall. He groaned, but slowly approached the horse, hands out.]
Hey... Hey Lightning, it's okay. Nothing's gonna hurt you, alright?
[He had to soothe him, as long as he was spooked, Lightning could do serious damage inadvertently]
Great! I get plenty of time to chillax because both brothers work~ ^_^
[Spock doesn't move from his spot, knowing that the horse does not like anyone other than Jim... but at this point, it looks as though the horse is inconsolable.]
Jim... I believe it would be wise to leave the horse alone at this time...
[Not that he knew anything about horses... but his concern was completely for Jim. Horses were strong, and this one looked capable of killing someone in a rage.]
Back! I just ate breakfast. Pancakes made from a mickey mouse waffle iron. Life is awesome
[Jim shook his head, not taking his eyes off White Lightning.]
No, he'll get loose and break even more shit. I have to calm him down.
[Because then he'll trust Jim more and they won't be making steps backwards in the breaking-in process.]
It's alright... I'm a friend. I'm not gonna hurt you.
[Lightning snorted and waved his tail as he backed into the corner of his stall. Jim approached gingerly, offering his hand to the beast. Things were going well until something cracked nearby. A heavy saddle fell from its mount on the wall causing a loud clap. Lightning whinnied and kicked, and rushed the broken entrance to his stall. Jim was quick enough to sidestep him but a compulsory swipe at the horse as he was rushing by warranted Lightning to kick in defense. Jim's hand slid smoothly across Lightning's side... and his hoof kicked him square in the chest, throwing him back against the stall wall... and down into the hay. There was an audible crunch as Jim's breast plate cracked. He hit the wall spine first then his head struck hard against the wood. His end of the bond lit up in pain and then went silent, disappearing as though the power had been lost... and slowly he dropped limp into a hay pile at his side.
Lightning ran outside. Jim was still.]
<3
No...
No...no no nonononononononononono.
The Vulcan finally lurched forward as the bond went still. There was no way he could be..
...Spock couldn't even allow himself to think the word as he ran to his bondmate's side. Falling to his knees, he quickly assessed Jim.
Broken bones... blood... a lot of blood. Spock was careful as he leaned forward to check if Jim was breathing.]
This is gonna get like... ER here in a sec. I researched this injury and it's got a high mortality %
If Spock manages to figure that out, it's obvious that here in rural Iowa any emergency vehicle wouldn't get to the barn in time to save Jim. However Winona had ordered this ingenious item years ago to combat this very problem. Over on the wall? There's an automatic defibrillator. The vulcan can save Jim with that and some CPR but there wasn't much time. Every second Jim didn't get air or circulation his chances of dying grew exponentially.]
All the excitement! Have I mentioned I think you're awesome? Because you are~
Defibrillator in hand, the Vulcan calmly, and quickly, opens Jim's shirt... peels the plastic off of the pads and places them on Jim's chest.
Waiting for the count, Spock presses the button.
He watches as the electric current shocks Jim's system. His mind was interestingly blank.... and if he had found himself in any other situation, he might have paused to analyse it. As it was, he was blank. If this didn't work?
Well... he couldn't afford to think about that right now.
Tilting Jim's head back Spock leans forward.... He holds Jim's nose as he places his mouth over his mate's, and breathes.
Oddly it's like meditation....
.....he counts and breaths....
Breath in....
....release.
....breath out.]
Awww you too, darling~ Also... poor Spock D8. He's not going to let Jim go now is he?
Spock saved him but Jim still needs help.]
NEVAH!!!!
The Vulcan feels in his mind for the bond as it begins to flare open once more.... attempting to keep Jim calm. Moving around is not a suggested activity for Jim at the moment....
Spock speaks in Jim's ear.]
Ashaya, you have been hurt. I have reason to believe that your ribs are broken, and your skull may be fractured. I need to carry you to the house.
Brace yourself.
[Spock loops his arms under Jim's legs and his back, and as gently as he can, lifts him up and cradles him to his chest.
The walk to the house will prove to be the longest walk the Vulcan has ever taken.]
no subject
Jim's only sounds were shallow breathing and tiny moans of pain. His bones were definitely broken, they crunched softly as they rubbed together while Spock carried him.
Somehow Winona knew something was wrong. She was up and at the porch when Spock arrived with Jim. She gasped... then became stoic.]
Have you called 911?
