K/S Hospital Scene bc Into Darkness was so K/S TASTIC

It was so sudden. He woke up with a flash, bright lights, soft sounds, a bed, he was alive?? But he'd died in the chamber...in engineering. Spock and he had exchanged that vulcan hand-thing whatever the hell it was. He'd died, he was dead. Was this heaven? Holy....

No. Bones was here nagging at him.

"Oh don't be so melodramatic, you were barely dead. You've been out cold for two weeks."

He was so...taken aback. What had happened? He just remembered being in the locked chamber watching Spock shed tears, glimmering tears of anguish as he slowly died of radiation poisoning... his heart lurched at the memory. He didn't know the vulcan was even capable...

And then Spock was in the room, approaching him. Suddenly... everything else was forgotten. Hell even Bones was gone in his mind, though he could hear the doctor put in a "You know Uhura and I had something to do with it too."

"....Thanks, Spock... for saving my life..."

_{[She nods, accepting his words as they are and nothing more. She isn't going to be impressed or displeased by his words but he was still a stranger to her, though not quite... he wasn't a close trusted individual. His claim to be happy with Jim in any capacity was enough to charm the casual listener but Winona was skeptical and hard to appease in her bitter widowhood.]}

[Spock's eyebrows twitch...ready to disagree with Winona.
Jim was very considerate.... just not in the usual way. Yet... he can see that Winona is still very guarded around him...

You must understand Missus Kirk... Vulcans do not 'share' emotions or feelings with one another. It is considered inappropriate and improper. [Spock gives her a look... willing her to understand that everything he had just told her...
...was really very hard for him to share. It just wasn't the Vulcan way.... And in essence, she was asking him to forget everything he had learned growing up.]

[Spock nods as he stands with Winona... and follows her out into the hallway.
A million things race through the Vulcan's mind as he conjures images of what Jim might look like.
Either way, he knows intimately how much he hates the image of Jim in a hospital bed. This time is no different as they walk into Jim's room.]

<sub>[Surprisingly Jim looks close to himself. A bit swollen but thanks to the serum from Khan's blood that Leonard already injected into him, he's healing up fast, the swelling's gone down considerably from surgery. He's asleep, still unconscious from the drugs. Winona steps over, eyes never leaving him as she sits at his side.

The wall panel with his vitals was about half and half with red and green status bars. He wasn't terrible but he wasn't well off either. Surely Leonard will see to that in the next few days.]</sub>

He looks a lot better than I thought he would.

[Spock walks towards Jim, his fingers itching to touch... to confirm.
Standing by Jim's bed, the Vulcan slowly reaches forward and gently touches Jim's fingers... the bond sings at the connection and at the confirmation of life.]

Please sit Missus Kirk... I am comfortable standing.

[Traditional hospital room with one chair right? Spock can stand for as long as he can stay awake.]

With only a bit of hesitation, Spock lifted his other hand to type a response.]

I appreciate your offer, however I am unable to comply. Currently, the Captain and I are in Iowa visiting his family. Unfortunately there has been an accident. Jim will be in the hospital until Doctor McCoy releases him. As such, I cannot leave his side.

Though this is far from an optimal situation, I am fine now that Jim is stable.

And she understood the implication that Spock wasn't fine before Jim was stable... it still turned the knife in her gut to hear him talk like that. He was so attached to Jim's every quirk and nuance... But she had to forget that, she was only here for Spock.]}

Doctor McCoy did not say... and Jim was only admitted an hour ago. I would assume two days at the very least.
Also, Jim and I have been invited to stay on the Kirk farm for the time being... I believe it is a wise choice. That being said, we will not be returning to San Francisco for quite some time.

...Jim will need extra time to recover.

[Spock hesitated for a moment. Should he tell her that he and Jim were now bonded? Would that be callous considering that he and Nyota only called it off a week ago?]
