The Vow au bc I love this plot twist and Aqua/Jim are adorable

Three years, nearly four, of wedded bliss. Jim was calmer, more focused and honestly a better captain. He had his wife, his beloved Aqua to thank for that, she was his light, his heart, his whole world. She kept him grounded and morally upright and he honestly took fewer stupid risks with his life thanks to her. The crew ran better, the Enterprise had better records, life was good.

Jim had bought them a house for when he was on Shore Leave on Earth, it barely got used but when Enterprise was docked, well they needed to crash somewhere. It was a nice place in San Francisco, in the heart of downtown and worth every penny of the millions it was worth.The property values were sky high but Jim was a veteran captain and got paid accordingly. He used his money on very little else besides charity so he was happy to spoil his wife with a comfortable home. Besides, if and when they had kids... well if their house just happened to be in an ideal school district he wouldn't call it an accident.

Everything was perfect, which begged for it all to come crashing down soon enough. Jim wouldn't remember the crash or the drunk kids in a truck behind him and Aqua on the road, he wouldn't remember that he shouldn't be alive, his wayfinder had saved him....but he doesn't know what this anymore. All he knows is he's laying in bed, he feels numb.. and he's waking up in what sounds and smells like a hospital.

"Mmm... mm." he was so tired and yet his mind was racing with questions. 'Where am I? What happened? Where's my ship?'

Jim can set to work on making the food while Aqua searched the cabinets for the added ingredients she's craving. She might as well look for the syrup too. Even as she looks, she pulls out the plates and silverware.

"You were an ass when we met. The way you acted really reminded me of Terra in the beginning, but yes the two of you met. Got along well enough. The person you really impressed was Ven...." her sentence trailed on as she reached in the back of the cupboard to find the damn syrup bottle.

"He's...protective of me. There was a dark point in our family where we all nearly lost each other. Terra, forgot who he was and both Ven and Eraqus were in the hospital...and I..." Was trapped in a different world with no way out.

"Was stranded out in the middle of nowhere with no way to get home."

"Yeah? What happened? It all had a happy ending though, you all made it back to each other... wait I reminded you of HIM? Ouch Aqua. Very ouch." he smiled gently, he's teasing. "Ah, you need help finding something?" she looks annoyed. Maybe he should do it for her.

"Ven, tell me about him. He's not like Terra I assume." tell him Ven is different. He needs to know both the brothers aren't this assholish.

"That's a story that can be told on another day, but yes, we had a happy ending. It took a few years, but we were able to mend what was damaged." There was a lot more heartache than Aqua wanted to share. It was a hard story to tell considering she'd have to leave out magic and traveling from one world to the next.

"I'm trying to be useful...but yes, you reminded me of him. If I thought of you as him, it kept me from wanting to kick you." More teasing, more looking through the cabinets before she found the damn bottle.

"Ven? No, he's a really sweet kid. A bit...naive and gullible, but he's very sweet."

GUH Back now.

"I'll hold you to that." he wanted to hear it, when she was ready to tell it of course. He could tell it was heavy and he understood. He had his own grief ridden tales.

"You're plenty useful. But seriously, him? Yikes... how bad was it?" he wondered how they met... "I can't believe I didn't hit on you first thing. You've got to be pulling my leg."

"Ven sounds nice. And like he needs rescuing pretty often."

"It was bad..." Aqua replied, combing through the cabinet until she was finally able to find the damn maple syrup.

There was a soft chuckle at the mention of him flirting with him. There was very little of that, very little of that. She took the syrup out and placed it on the counter.

"It was...I think a month or so after you fought Khan. I accidentally boarded your ship in the armor I wore. I didn't want to harm anyone so I was taken to a cell and waited to meet you. I removed my helmet and you treated me very...coldly. We didn't warm up to each other until...weeks later."

Unfortunately I also need to go to bed soon. My dog says hello.

Khan? Wait that was.... no way. "So....shit I... was just about to meet you then. I mean, out of what I remember." he was on a coma for two weeks then it was nearly a year before Enterprise was back in space and ready to go but he figures what she means was in-flight time. So about a month into the FYM, right? Whatever. Doesn't matter. Either way he conveniently forgot JUST before she came into his life. Weird.

"I probably thought you were another threat. I'd lost some of my crew to Khan not too long before, I was defensive, I can guarantee you that."

"Mmhmm.." There was a nod of her head as she leaned against the counter, watching him cook.

"You thought I was a threat, something I understood. I had my own mission to complete and wanted to get as far away from the Enterprise as possible. Sadly, there was something preventing me from leaving. We eventually got used to each other...until you kissed me out of the blue one day." There was a little blush on her cheeks as she recalled the events.

"That...took me by surprise. You took my first kiss."

I ought to find a photo of him I have online...

"Huh. So I was stuck with you." he can imagine where it went from there. "Guess I decided to get used to the idea....eh?" he kissed her out of nowhere? Well that didn't sound out of character.

"You say it like it was a bad thing. I'm not a bad kisser. What were you saving your first for someone?"

"I suppose you did..." They did end up running into each other a few times while she was trying to figure out a way to get off his ship. Though in between trying to solve her own problems and getting back home, she became of some help to the crew.

"Hm? Oh, I never said you were bad at kissing...' Oh Light, he was making her blush now.

"No, it was just..." she had to look away in an attempt to hide her blushing cheeks from him.

"I never thought I would get kissed. I had my life planned out of being a guard, a warrior. It never dawned on me that someone wanted to kiss me, or wanted to date me."

He just watched her, curious and charmed by the obvious naive innocence. He had to have been drawn in by that initially. He'd had to have wondered if that was real or just fake because that is hard to come by in this modern world where mass media crushes innocence before the age of four.

"Really? Not even once? Someone as pretty as you? Please. Good thing you met me." sheesh, not even a childhood fling? Some crush? A celebrity idol?

"Guard? What kind of guard?"

"Nope, not even once." Hard to believe, but it was true. For someone who studied spells, stances and stayed up all night in the library, she was pretty innocent. Even when Aqua was growing up around Terra, she wasn't treated any differently because of her gender.

"Ahh, I suppose it was a good thing. No one ever complimented me as much until you came around," she admitted, continuing to keep her head bowed.

"Ahh, we shared similar directives, to protect and serve. That sort of thing."

Well Terra was also growing up around HER and she could just as easily have treated him differently for his gender.

"That I don't believe. Just...nobody? Were you a shut in or just that sheltered?" or was she just homely as a kid? He knew a lot of people were pretty as kids and ugly as adults and vice versa. She was beautiful... and he was certainly an awkward looking child so maybe? Still, anybody who even wanted to try could get SOMEONE. She must have been totally uninterested or oblivious. Both?

"Well I probably figured I had some making up to do. And I am also an explorer, discovering new worlds and new civilizations. Do you ever do that? Who do you serve? Starfleet?"

She probably did treat Terra a little differently. Whenever they sparred together she didn't hold back. They rough housed and it was considered normal for her.

There was a casual shrug of her shoulders.

"I had a lot to focus on, things to keep me busy from textbooks to learning how to defend myself. I meant, I noticed boys, but that was it. Never acted on any impulses until I met you." So it was a little bit of both.

"I didn't serve Starfleet, someone else entirely. But, yes I went to a few worlds and met different people along the way."

"Oh I see how it is, you just lost control around me. I got your attention, I got you to pine for the male form?" he chuckled dryly. "Kidding."

Was this how he teased her before? He could see himself doing that but he can't see any woman putting up with that.

"Alright, no Starfleet. But what worlds did you go to? Who do you serve? Why did you end up on my ship and why were you stuck there?"

The way Jim joked around with her was the type of bantering Aqua liked. She smiled at him, shaking her head at his use of 'kidding'. She knew when he was joking with her and when he was being serious. Aqua found herself thinking he was back to himself and they were reminiscing about everything. It was tempting to come up behind him, wrap her arms around his waist and hold him.

"Yes, you made me realize there were men in the world and that I had to have you."

Ahh, but more questions. How could she continue on with her charade?

"I went to different ones. Hard to remember all of them. I served an old order and for getting stuck on your ship...we still never figured that out. Maybe it was fate trying to get us together, get over our stubborn ways and be with each other."

"Well, can't say I blame you. I am devastating... did I have to work hard for you? Did you take convincing?" he finds it strange to ask that but he is willing to get a story if he knows more about his own life.

"Aqua... come on, stop avoiding answering. You know I'll find out eventually then I'll be irritated you didn't tell me." he would be, honestly. Displeased that she didn't trust him enough to give him the truth.

"Yeah you are..." As for him working hard for her..That took a moment to figure out.

"Not really, not that I could see. You'd have to ask McCoy and Spock that. I was really oblivious to anyone flirting with me until a 16 year old asked me out. That was awkward and before I met you.:

She chewed on her lower lip. He had a point. He would be irritated with her, but how could she go about saying she had magic without him freaking out?

"That is the answer. I couldn't figure out why I couldn't leave. Neither science nor magic could explain why I was unable to leave your ship." She casually slipped in the word magic, like it was nothing. Maybe he wouldn't catch it..maybe.

He was genuinely flattered by her response... however that was short lived. As he puts their food on the table he raises an eyebrow at her.

" Magic huh. Did we get that desperate to turn to magic?" he tried to chuckle but she sounded kind of serious...

Okay...he caught on to her wording. Now, did she dare go on with it? Might as well...I hate hiding it from him. And sooner or later he would find out, as he said.

"No, we didn't, but I tried to..." Aqua let her sentence trail on for a moment, letting it sink in before continuing.

"I'm able to use magic, Jim. It's not fantasy or a joke..." and as proof she held out her hand, creating ice and snow from nothing. the mini blizzard in the palm of her hand stayed there for a handful of seconds before she dismissed it.

"...it's real."

I want to have a Frozen moment and have Jim ask 'do the magic, do the magic!' and they have snow

He's about to chuckle at her when she whips out the tiny snow storm. He's forced to pause and stare in awe at the phenomenon before him, not quite believing then... not quite sure how to give words to what he was seeing.

".....do it again."

Aqua was waiting for Jim's reaction. She was on pins and needles hoping he wouldn't freak out. When he asked her to do it again, Aqua took it as a good sign.

Her eyes roamed over the counter to pick up a spoon, throwing it into the air and call out a spell; stop. The spoon froze in mid-air, suspended in animation.

"...do you need to see more?"

he'd be like a big kid... well he already is a big kid

He tapped the spoon in wonder. It just... froze. He stared a moment ten noted at her question.

"... yes!" he's grinning. " show me all of it!" He has forgotten about food. He is too excited now, he looks like a child grinning.

"All of it" Aqua blinked, looking over at her husband in wonder. Did she hear him correctly? He wanted her to show him everything? Her armor? Her keyblade? Everything?

"It would take days for me to show you all I can do...but..you're not..okay stupid question, but you're not upset?"

Amnesia, remember, Aqua? He doesn't know that you have a treasure chest of powers. He only knows this is awesome and he wants more.

"Upset? Why would I be upset? My wife is a freaking wizard!"

"Wizard? Oh no, Merlin is a wizard. I'm a Keyblade Master..." which really wouldn't do well with his lack of memory. A burden had been lifted off her shoulders hearing her husband's excitement. He didn't freak out, he wasn't angry and better yet, he wanted to see more.

"How about we eat, I explain a few more things then show you more magic, okay?"
