K/S Hospital Scene bc Into Darkness was so K/S TASTIC

It was so sudden. He woke up with a flash, bright lights, soft sounds, a bed, he was alive?? But he'd died in the chamber...in engineering. Spock and he had exchanged that vulcan hand-thing whatever the hell it was. He'd died, he was dead. Was this heaven? Holy....

No. Bones was here nagging at him.

"Oh don't be so melodramatic, you were barely dead. You've been out cold for two weeks."

He was so...taken aback. What had happened? He just remembered being in the locked chamber watching Spock shed tears, glimmering tears of anguish as he slowly died of radiation poisoning... his heart lurched at the memory. He didn't know the vulcan was even capable...

And then Spock was in the room, approaching him. Suddenly... everything else was forgotten. Hell even Bones was gone in his mind, though he could hear the doctor put in a "You know Uhura and I had something to do with it too."

"....Thanks, Spock... for saving my life..."

[Spock's eyebrows raised...]

Missus Kirk. Since I am here, I would be more than happy to assist you with anything you might need on the farm.

I assume that Jim and I will be here for approximately eight months...

[Plus, it gave Spock something extra to do while remaining in close proximity to Jim.]

Hm? You're sure about that? Just the other day I got the impression you couldn't leave this house lest my son break out in some bond-related rash.

But if you're game, I won't say no. It's a lot of work and honestly this farm isn't making the kind of money it could be. I don't give it the attention it deserves. It just paid the bills, that's all I worried about.

But tell me, just how much experience does a veritable vulcan prince have with farm work?

In all honesty, I am not sure on most anything. However, we can try... and if it does not work out, there is always the tempt agency, yes?

[Spock gives her a flat look....]
I am not a prince Missus Kirk. And my learning as a child did include Terran farming, I only have yet to put it into practice. However, I am confident in my skills... I will learn.

[That, and Spock was getting antsy.]

And I guess it can't hurt. As long as you leaving the house won't hurt Jim I'm fine with teaching you if you can keep up.

You're getting cabin fever aren't you? Boy if you can't handle this house for a week how are you going to handle deep space?

My temperature has not increased Missus Kirk. And believe me when I say that I have spent extensive time in deep space exploration vessels. I served with Christopher Pike on various missions...

[He belonged in space, it was his home. Winona didn't know what she was talking about.]

My range in the house has been limited to the bedroom and the kitchen, I am certain most people would find themselves for want of something else to do in my position. However, if my venturing out into the farm in any way hurts Jim, then I will content myself with whatever needs to be done.

Cabin fever is just a human way of saying you want to get out of the house.

Alright then... have you had breakfast? If not you better eat and meet me in the horse stables.

_{[She didn't have to know what she was talking about to be a worried mother, geez Spock. You don't know everything about her life either.]}

[They had a lot to understand about each other.]

I have had sufficient nourishment, I will join you in the stables... but I must check on Jim.

[The Vulcan quickly scoots into Jim's room... and cards his fingers through his mate's hair.]

_{[Jim was curled up under his blankets, not asleep though he looked it]}

Hm? What's happening?

Be at ease Ashaya. I am going to assist your mother for a while... However, I need you to tell me the moment you feel pain or discomfort at our distance. I will keep our bond open.

[This felt wrong... he didn't know if he should leave Jim alone.]

Fine... you two play nice... hey can you do me a favor? Can you turn on the radio or the tv? Just something for me to listen to... have fun out there.

_{[Clearly he doesn't think anything is gong to go wrong.]}

[Spock is still unsure... he's already worried. Carding his fingers through Jim's hair one last time, the Vulcan turns around and flicks on the radio... since Jim can't seem to keep his eyes open long enough to watch the tv.]

[He makes his way out of the house, and after Winona.]

_{[He'll make do. He could open his eyes and manage to slink into the bathroom. Getting downstairs to eat something... might be harder.

But Winona was in the barn, tending to the horses.]}

Hey, do you know how to use a hay loft?

[Spock assess the structure with a raised eyebrow.]

You speak of transporting enough hay from the loft to the ground?

[Spock made sure to keep his bond open, feeling for Jim and his state of mind. He was confident that he could do whatever needed to be done... but his first priority was to his bondmate.]

Yep. The elevator's over on that end. Should be easy work. Two of the large bales should be plenty for the week. I'll help you move it to the first empty stall if you need it.

_{[Jim was kind of bored but he was enjoying the radio and generally being a bump on a log. This was a nice sort of vacation from the hustle and bustle of his crew and Starfleet. He was settled for now but Spock shouldn't trust him to much...he's going to start wandering around, he might hurt himself. Spock did cover the electrical sockets, right?]}

[Spock quite easily jumps into the loft... putting on a pair of gloves he managed to snag... and effortlessly lifted a bale, placing it on the elevator.

He was distracted though...]

Jim, how are you feeling?

_{[Winona was impressed with Spock's strength and agility, she mentions something about it but Jim's projection is louder and demands attention.]}

Didn't you just ask me that? Wait, what time is it? I'm bored... kind of hungry, I'm gonna go make something.

[Spock stops mid-throw, eyes wide as a streak of fear runs through him.]

Jim! Do not leave the safety of your room! You are not yet well enough to venture down-stairs.

[Spock dropped down from the loft in front of Winona.] Your son is hungry and is attempting to move. He should not.

oh why not? I'm not helpless. It's going to be fine. what do you want for lunch?

hm? what's he doing?

The bond that we have just solidified has left him almost debilitated. He could lapse and fall down the stairs.

[Spock's face remained calm and cool, but he was almost panicked.]

Jim... please.

hmm. maybe we should head back and keep an eye on him. he's always been prone to trouble.

... you sure?

but it's so boring here.

You have my apologies Winona. I thought that perhaps I could help you with your chores. Unless... is there any way we could relocate Jim onto the main floor?

[Spock started to make his way to the house...] Do not make me contact Doctor McCoy.

We can. let's move him today. there's a guest room downstairs. He'll get into less trouble... he gets restless if he's alone.

you wouldn't.... no. I know you would. Alright fine. I'll be a good boy.

Thank you. [Spock nodded once at Winona, and took off into the house, and bounded up the stairs.]

_{[Jim was maybe crawling out of bed as Spock came up the stairs but he quickly stilled when his love burst through the door. He pretended he'd been sitting prone this whole time.]}

What's the rush? You think I'm going to keel over or something? Unless you came back to entertain me in which case you are my hero.

[Spock breathed a small sigh of relief as he saw that Jim was safe. He stepped up to his mate with a quirked eyebrow...]

Perhaps you would prefer being relocated to the main floor? I must assist your mother, but I can only do that if I can be assured of your safety.

[The Vulcan's eyes shone with worry as he sat beside Jim....] Can you do this for me, Ashaya?
