K/S Hospital Scene bc Into Darkness was so K/S TASTIC

It was so sudden. He woke up with a flash, bright lights, soft sounds, a bed, he was alive?? But he'd died in the chamber...in engineering. Spock and he had exchanged that vulcan hand-thing whatever the hell it was. He'd died, he was dead. Was this heaven? Holy....

No. Bones was here nagging at him.

"Oh don't be so melodramatic, you were barely dead. You've been out cold for two weeks."

He was so...taken aback. What had happened? He just remembered being in the locked chamber watching Spock shed tears, glimmering tears of anguish as he slowly died of radiation poisoning... his heart lurched at the memory. He didn't know the vulcan was even capable...

And then Spock was in the room, approaching him. Suddenly... everything else was forgotten. Hell even Bones was gone in his mind, though he could hear the doctor put in a "You know Uhura and I had something to do with it too."

"....Thanks, Spock... for saving my life..."

<sub>[Uhm.... a knock? Well... he was the only one home so he stepped away from the stove and looked through the peephole.

He opened the door, looking at the young boy with a bouquet of multicolored roses.]</sub>

Man, someone must love you a lot. This is the third bouquet today!

Yeah, I know... ah... are there any more coming?

Nope, that's the last one today.

Huh? _{[the kid seemed surprised as Jim signed for the flowers.]} You don't know what the flowers mean? Here, lemme show you.

Huh? Wha-- I didn't mean--

My parents own the flower shop that these came from, I know this stuff!

Yeah I bet you do...

See there's eleven roses, that means whoever sent them really loves you. And this red one means love... this orange one means they're really excited about you, the dark red one means they think you're beautiful, the pink one is like...perfect happiness. My mom says this coral one means 'desire'... and the white one is the one people get married with.

_{[Jim had to hand it to the kid, he was better at this than he was, he didn't know any of them other than the red one.]}

That's pretty good... do you know the other ones?

Huh? Oh yeah, the honeysuckle is for bonding with the person you love and the Alstro...Alstromer.... the orange ones mean loyalty.

Huh... thanks. _{[he handed the kid a twenty, bringing a smile to his face]} Stay out of trouble.

[Spock looked at his padd while he observed the labs. He may or may not have smiled just a teeny tiny bit.... however he schooled himself as soon as he saw the look of concern on an ensigns face.

Soon enough, Spock was leaving the Academy.... and with a quick pit stop to pick up an extra 'something', he made his way home. He never had a room-mate before... never had someone he was looking forward to seeing when he got home..

... A wave of pleasurable possessiveness swept through the Vulcan at the thought of his T'hy'la waiting for him at his place.
Box of 'something' in hand, the Vulcan let himself into his apartment...]

<sub>[The place smelled like...well plomeeks. Jim had gone through several iterations of them. Glazed, cooked in oil, baked, he even had a...something in the oven with them but that was a bit of a surprise. Right now he was working on some chips. He had a vegetable peeler and was making thin shaves that he brushed with oil and sprinkled with salt and pepper before sticking them into the oven along with the other item...

He looked over his shoulder as he stood upright once more... and he beamed.]</sub>

_{[Quickly he stepped over to Spock, past the vase of orange blooms, past the new vase of eleven roses... past the honeysuckle blossoms back in water again now nectar-less... He took his love by the shoulders and dragged him into a passionate kiss]}

[Spock hummed in pleasure as he was pulled into the kiss... Wrapping his arms around his T'hy'la, he nearly forgot about the box he had in his hands... and it bumped into Jim's back.

Pulling away (mournfully) from the kiss, Spock looked at his T'hy'la and smiled that small half-smile that was only reserved for him.... and presented Jim with a box of chocolates.]

This is for you.

[Spock inhaled deeply... and had to refrain from rolling his eyes in pleasure at the smell in the kitchen. It was simply divine. Jim was cooking the plomeeks? The Vulcan couldn't wait to eat them... his mouth practically watering in anticipation.]

_{[Well look at them. So domestic... you'd never guess that they explored space and killed aliens in their nine to five. Oh well, being domestic was a welcome break and Jim was pretty sure they wouldn't get another one for five years...]}

Aww, you are going all out... thank you. _{[Awesome. Something he can use. Candy~! Much better than flowers.]}

What brought this one? Did you just miss me that bad?

_{[he set the box on the table next to the roses and returned to the stove. Ah, more plomeek time~ He kind of liked these veggies.]}

I've been toying with these all day. I made a ton of stuff. So... I figured we'd just try them all and see what we think.

[Spock blushes a bit green at the question... but then he answers in that vague way that means a half-truth or explanation.]

I find that there is always something 'lacking' while not in your presence... the gifting of chocolates is something that one does in a relationship.

[Yeah... Spock does and doesn't know what he's doing. The Box of Chocolates was a piece of information that he had looked up this afternoon. A 'favour' that one bestows on their significant other.
Spock was worthy to keep around, right? Right.

The Vulcan's fingers twitched as he followed Jim into the kitchen... he wanted to sample the Vulcan vegetable.]

I find that I am looking forward to when we eat, Jim.

_{[He smiled, taking Spock's hand as he stepped back into the kitchen. He pressed his fingers to the vulcan's, offering him a little reward for his kindness. And yes he was absolutely a keeper. Jim would keep him forever.]}

That it is, my man, that it is. I didn't know you liked chocolate, I'll have to get you some.

_{[he agitated the plomeeks he was cooking in oil a bit. They were getting golden, looking rather delicious. And to the side there was a pot boiling with a familiar colored liquid cooking. Jim stirred it a bit]}

I'm not sure about this... I mean it tastes alright but it needs something... here. _{[he offered Spock a spoonful to sample]}

And if you want you can have what I'm making as soon as it's done.

[Spock gladly rubbed his fingers along Jim's... but didn't say anything about the chocolate.
Truth be told, he's never had it before..

...but he wasn't sure if he should tell Jim that or not.
Either way, he was distracted by the spoon...

Soup... Plomeek soup. A Vulcan dish he hasn't had in... a long time. The Vulcan leaned forward and wrapped his lips around the offering, swallowing the flavour that he was very familiar with.
Spock hummed in contentment.]

It is quite good Jim... [Indeed it was... but it wasn't the same as his mother's.. Jim was right, there was something missing. But you just didn't say that to your significant other... it was like saying it was bad or something.]

_{[He smiled at Spock's reaction. Had he made something good here? Really? He thought it was underwhelming... But Spock was happy to he literally couldn't stop the smile from blooming on his face.]}

It is? I thought it was kinda eh. A decent start... I don't know what it needs though...

_{[He took another taste himself... and added some sage and a bit of rosemary... and it helped but it wasn't quite 'there' yet]}

Here, try it again. Tell me the truth, it needs something doesn't it? Do you know what your mom put in this?

[Spock hesitated....but did as Jim asked.]

Ashaya, this soup is very much the same that my other relatives used to make.... however, it is not like my mother's.
Unfortunately, I did not learn what it was that she put in the soup to make it taste like it did.
[Spock hoped he didn't hurt Jim's feelings...]

Aha... I did better than I thought I did. _{[he smiled]}.

So... vulcan standard but not Amanda standard. _{[His feelings? Oh Spock you had to try harder to get his feelings in a tiff]}

Well I'll just have to keep making it and trying new things... that store has to have something that she used... do you still want this? _{[He gestured to the pot]}

Don't eat it out of obligation or anything. It won't bother me.

[Spock quirked an eyebrow and took another spoon full of the soup...]

Ashaya, this is quite good... it would be illogical to waste. Just because it is not up to my mother's standards does not mean that it is not palatable.

[It was Spock-speak for: I like it dammit! It's comfort food...
The Vulcan hummed as he got a rather large bowl-full of the soup, and sat down at the table... Spock looked to be quite the satisfied cat.]

[Well how could he refuse that? He replicated some tea for Spock and bread and salad for them both.]

I'm glad. I still want to work on it. This soup has potential to be really great, I know it.

[He sat with his mate, having gotten his own bowl of the soup. This was a nice lunch...]

At the risk of sounding like a house wife... How was work?

[Spock looked up at Jim and quirked an eyebrow... Housewife? While that did draw a rather pleasing image, a wife Jim was not. He was a very male, very unique individual. Perhaps Spock should have given Jim stereotypically male gifts instead of flowers... if such a thing existed.

Amusement filled Spock's eyes...]

Many of the Admirals send their greeting... they wished to know of your wellbeing. They asked me to look over various experiments in the science lab...
Many were disrupted during the destruction.

[Spock seemed to hesitate...] They asked me to once again reconsider my decision...

[Spock looks up at Jim.] Since I have not taken leave in all my years of service, my accumulation of days off is quite extensive. I am using them now so I can stay here with you until the Enterprise is repaired.

However, I did agree to come in like I did today for the science department. Everything else can be done via padd.

[Spock indicate his PADD on the table... A good part of him wanted to work, that it was illogical to lay idle. But he wasn't laying idle. He was with Jim...
...and that's all that mattered.

Spock wanted to be here, with his T'hy'la... and learn to be a good mate while they had the chance. In space, they wouldn't have this opportunity.]

[he could be independent and all that. He can even feed himself.]

[The Vulcan leans forward...tilting his head so that he is very close to Jim...
When he speaks, his voice has taken a dive lower...]

_{[Woah... hey there, stud. Jim is unconsciousl;y holding his breath, getting a tiny bit tense at that voice... oh....Spock you... just get in him. If you're going to talk like that...]}

Yeah? I just... thought you'd... get bored here...

_{[Those lips... did he take them or just let it go? They were in the middle of a meal here but... fuck it. He had to. You started it, Spock.]}

[Victory. Spock hummed into the kiss... but pulled away before it can escalate into anything more.
With a smug look, the Vulcan continues to eat his soup.

Very satisfied indeed.]

<sub>[Wise move on Spock's part... he sighed as he moved away but he knew it was for the best. He watched as that soup disappeared and finished his own... what was this missing? It needed something... but it was good. He could definitely eat this again...

In the meantime he wondered about what he was going to do. He wanted to help with the cleanup of San Francisco... but he knew Bones was going to throw a fit if he did that. Yet he couldn't sit still just being doted on and having this wonderful life while others were suffering. Others he could seemingly help in some manner. In any manner.

He looked out the window lost in thought.]</sub>

[Spock had finished his soup... He tilted his head in curiosity when he looked up at Jim, apparently deep in thought.]

I believe the phrase is 'penny for your thoughts'... However I find that a rather curious statement, as I would pay more.

[Spock, you just keep being cute.]

It's an overused phrase. I think the last time I heard that one I offered to jump off the balcony I was standing on.

I was just thinking... about the survivors...I want to help them.

In what capacity would you want to help them?

[Spock was honestly curious about this... all the survivors were already being helped by the city and various organizations. No one was 'homeless' these days... or without food.

What did Jim want to do? ]

_{[Perhaps it was. He was only one man and the organizations responsible for tending to national crises were already handling them. The rubble was cleared, the bodies were counted, rebuilding was beginning...]}

I have this amazing life and there are others who are miserable right now...
