K/S Hospital Scene bc Into Darkness was so K/S TASTIC

It was so sudden. He woke up with a flash, bright lights, soft sounds, a bed, he was alive?? But he'd died in the chamber...in engineering. Spock and he had exchanged that vulcan hand-thing whatever the hell it was. He'd died, he was dead. Was this heaven? Holy....

No. Bones was here nagging at him.

"Oh don't be so melodramatic, you were barely dead. You've been out cold for two weeks."

He was so...taken aback. What had happened? He just remembered being in the locked chamber watching Spock shed tears, glimmering tears of anguish as he slowly died of radiation poisoning... his heart lurched at the memory. He didn't know the vulcan was even capable...

And then Spock was in the room, approaching him. Suddenly... everything else was forgotten. Hell even Bones was gone in his mind, though he could hear the doctor put in a "You know Uhura and I had something to do with it too."

"....Thanks, Spock... for saving my life..."

[Spock started to make his way to the house...] Do not make me contact Doctor McCoy.

We can. let's move him today. there's a guest room downstairs. He'll get into less trouble... he gets restless if he's alone.

Thank you. [Spock nodded once at Winona, and took off into the house, and bounded up the stairs.]

_{[Jim was maybe crawling out of bed as Spock came up the stairs but he quickly stilled when his love burst through the door. He pretended he'd been sitting prone this whole time.]}

What's the rush? You think I'm going to keel over or something? Unless you came back to entertain me in which case you are my hero.

[Spock breathed a small sigh of relief as he saw that Jim was safe. He stepped up to his mate with a quirked eyebrow...]

Perhaps you would prefer being relocated to the main floor? I must assist your mother, but I can only do that if I can be assured of your safety.

[The Vulcan's eyes shone with worry as he sat beside Jim....] Can you do this for me, Ashaya?

Alright, I can move around downstairs easier right? And by that I mean 'you won't come running after me'.

[Spock shifted, listening as Winona walked around downstairs. He couldn't let Jim know how much this worried him... He knows his mother survived a Vulcan bond, but this... this was different, and Spock was worried. He had ever urge to take care of his mate, to ensure his safety, but he also didn't want to crowd Jim by threatening his independence.

The Vulcan placed his hand delicately on Jim's leg.]

Your health is of the utmost importance to me. [He looked at Jim, hoping the other man understood what the Vulcan meant.]

_{[Spock was in luck, Jim understood the implications this time. He knew Spock worried a lot about things and didn't express himself.]}

[Which was true in a sense, but it might also be true that Spock was being a touch illogical. Surely if Winona knew she would smack him up-side the head.]

[Spock paused for only a moment, then stood, taking Jim with him, bundling him in a blanket. Perhaps he was being a touch 'mother-hen'.]

_{[He chuckled after he finished singing the lyrics to finish. His voice was weak, but it was lovely, a pure soulful singing voice. He hadn't sang since... since he got home from the hospital and woke Spock up]}

[Spock enjoyed hearing Jim sing as he brought them downstairs, leading his mate over to a couch in the main living room. Hopefully there was enough here to entertain a Starship Captain.

As much as he wanted to stay here with Jim, he also needed to help Winona.]

I promise to do my utmost to make this up to you Ashaya. Do you need anything before I leave?

_{[he smiles as innocently as he could. He had plenty to keep him amused here. Mostly he'd just nap though... then crawl into the kitchen and get into tasty shenanigans.]}

[Spock was quick to comply, getting Jim his glass of water and placing it on the table next to the couch. He also handed Jim his PADD....]

Call, if you need anything. [They had been together for awhile now, but the Vulcan still blushed a bit before leaning forward to give his mate a small peck on the lips.]

_{[He tugged Spock closer for a second deeper kiss, cheating in every sense but he didn't care. When he broke away he licked his lips.]}

I will... be careful out there. _{[He'll be a good boy and stay put....for now.]}

[Spock looked as though he wanted more, pretty much having to shake himself out of it before he could stand again, barely managing to leave Jim's presence.

The Vulcan was a working machine as soon as he got outside, clearing the hay and doing everything Winona asked. The sun was just starting to set....

...and he barely noticed. He had to admit, working like this was like meditating. It was kind of nice.]

Thank you Spock, that would have taken me days to get done by myself. How about I make a big dinner when we get back? I bet Jim is starving....unless he's gotten bored and raided the kitchen himself.

If he's behaved I'll make something I've been considering for you all day. How do you feel about earth vegetables?

[Spock stopped, seeming almost surprised that so much time had already gone by.]

A home-made meal would be most appreciated, and I enjoy Earth-vegetables just fine. My mother often had them imported in to make 'comfort food.'
[The Vulcan searched the new bond, wondering how Jim was doing as he started to make his way towards the house.]

Good, I've got a recipe that calls for red onion, tomato, mushroom, eggplant, cucumbers, carrots, celery, anything else you could want. And lots of cheese. It's really good, Jim likes it. What kind of things did your mother make for you? How did she handle implementing earth food into your childhood?

I'll get right on it once I'm hosed off.

[Spock was surprised to hear Winona being so... chipper? He wasn't sure of the word, but her mood had definitely shifted. While he felt bad for treating her the way he did, he was still under the impression that she didn't really care for him.
Which was understandable considering what he had done to her son.

Spock recovered quickly though.]

My mother was always fond of potato salad, vegetarian lasagna and really anything that you could add cheese to. She was always rather inventive with her cooking, and I am ashamed to say that I did not pay much attention to what she added or substituted. [A faint blush stained Spock's cheeks at that. It was one of the many things he regretted.]
[When they got inside, Spock only glanced at the cake with a raised eyebrow before going to Jim's side, making sure to be quiet.]

_{[She doesn't much like Spock but she is being Jim's mother right now and that means liking his little friends. Or in this case, alien husband. Getting good work done puts her in a better mood and puts Spock in a better light. She is willing to remember that being positive was much more effective in making lasting positive relationships.]}

I can handle all of those. Perhaps we could... work on your cooking them. Jim is going to be useless in the kitchen as long as he's--.... now what did he.. Dammit. He's been cooking again.

Jim! Jim--... <sub>[she saw her son on the couch with Spock approaching and calmed her voice]

[Spock 'listens' for a moment before standing upright once more. Jim was fine, if not tired.]

He is indeed. Shall I assist you with dinner?
[He was glad now that they had moved him to the first floor. He can't imagine what would have happened it he had fallen down the stairs.]
